Evnex certified installer
Being an Evnex certified installer means we are trained on the Evnex range and can supply, install and commission their chargers properly, from mounting and wiring through to app setup and load management.
Already picked a charger? We also install the Tesla Wall Connector and other quality brands. We are happy to recommend one that suits your car, your switchboard and the way you drive.
How fast will it charge?
Charging speed depends on your power supply and what your car can accept. As a rough guide:
- Standard power point (about 2.4 kW): around 10 to 15 km of range per hour
- Single phase wall charger (7 kW): around 40 km of range per hour, enough to fill most cars overnight
- Three phase wall charger (11 to 22 kW): faster again, though many cars cap home charging at 11 kW
What we check before we install
A charger can draw close to its full rating for hours at a time, so we check the whole path before quoting: switchboard condition and spare room, main switch and supply capacity, the cable route from the board to your garage or carport, and whether load management is needed so the charger and your heating or cooking never overload the supply.
Older boards sometimes need upgrading first. If yours does, we can do both jobs together.

Charging from solar
With a smart charger, spare solar power can go into the car instead of back to the grid for a few cents. You can also schedule charging for off-peak rates and track usage from your phone. We set all of this up and show you how it works before we leave.
Chargers for businesses
Pro-Elec also installs EV chargers for workplaces and businesses, for staff, fleet vehicles or customers. See our commercial electrical services for more of the work we do for businesses.

Can I install a charger myself?
No. In Victoria, all EV charger installations must be done by a licensed electrician, who then issues a Certificate of Electrical Safety.
How long does installation take?
Most standard home installations take 2 to 4 hours. Longer cable runs or a switchboard upgrade add time, and we will tell you up front.
Do I need three phase power?
No. Single phase suits a 7 kW charger, which comfortably covers most daily driving overnight. Three phase is only needed for faster charging.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Call 0423 652 369 or send an enquiry with a photo of your switchboard and where you would like the charger, and we will get back to you.
