Switchboards

Switchboard upgrades in Beaconsfield, Officer & Berwick

Pro-Elec Electrics replaces old fuse boxes and overloaded switchboards for homes and businesses across Beaconsfield, Officer, Berwick and the Cardinia Shire, so your power is safe today and ready for whatever you add next.

Is it time to upgrade?

Have your switchboard checked if any of these sound familiar:

  • Ceramic or rewireable fuses instead of circuit breakers
  • No safety switches, or only one covering part of the house
  • Breakers tripping or fuses blowing regularly
  • Scorch marks, buzzing, heat or a burning smell at the board
  • No space left for new circuits
  • Plans for an EV charger, solar, a battery, a renovation or a new kitchen

What a new switchboard includes

Every board we install is built to current standards and set up to be easy to live with:

  • Safety switch protection on every circuit, so a fault trips one circuit rather than the whole house
  • A correctly rated main switch
  • Clearly labelled circuits
  • Spare room for future circuits
  • Full testing and a Certificate of Electrical Safety

Ready for EV chargers, solar and batteries

EV chargers, solar inverters and home batteries all need their own protected circuits, and older boards often have no room for them. If you are planning any of these, upgrading the switchboard first saves doing the work twice. We can quote both together.

Commercial switchboards

For shops, offices and workshops we upgrade main and distribution boards, add sub-boards and three phase circuits, and fix boards that have failed inspection. We schedule the changeover around your trading hours to keep downtime short.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

Most home switchboard upgrades are finished in a day. The power is off during the changeover, and we will let you know beforehand how long to plan for.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the board, the number of circuits and what else needs fixing, so we quote after seeing it. Quotes are free.

Do I need a mains upgrade as well?

Sometimes, if you are adding big loads like an EV charger, ducted heating or three phase equipment. We check the supply when we look at the board.
